Clinacanthus Nutans, Sabah Snake Grass, 'you dun cao', 憂遁草, 优遁草, 沙巴蛇草, 青箭, Belalai gajah, U-turn grass, etc.

Traditionally, C. nutans has been used as herb in many Asian countries to treat different diseases and symptoms.

In China, the whole plant is used in various manners to treat inflammatory conditions like haematoma (localized collection of blood outside the blood vessels), contusion, strains and sprains of injuries and rheumatism. In recent years, the C. nutans has been widely sought in Malaysia and has been continuously gaining interest from Singaporeans and Indonesians as an alternative treatment to various cancer diseases following a local newspaper report in year 2008 on a 56-year old stage 4 lymphatic cancer patient, who was diagnosed with only 3 months to live, but had managed to live on by consuming C. nutans (blended the plant leaves with green apples and drank the juice) every morning after breakfast. It was reported that within 3 days after consuming the C. nutans juice, the 6 tumors had shrank and after 13 days, he was cleared by the oncologist. The news had gone viral in the internet.

Suggestion of consuming Clinathanus/Sabah Snake Grass

Number of leaves used for treatment for Cancer:
Stage 1: 30 leaves everyday
Stage 2: 50 leaves everyday
Stage 3: 100 leaves everyday
Stage 4: 150 - 200 leaves everyday

When the patient gets better, reduce the number of leaves

Direction for juicing SSG
a) Pour half cup of clean water in a blender
b) Add 1 or 2 ice cubes to prevent heating during blending
c) Add 1 quarter of lemon or half a lime juice (provide Vit C and prevent oxidization)
d) Wash the required fresh SSG leaves and put them into the blender
e) Peel a green apple and remove the core/seeds
f) Cut the apple into 8 pieces

One fine evening, my 7 years old April, coming back home and telling me, her Moral teacher brought them 优顿草 and let them taste. According to her Moral teacher, this plant is good for curing cancer (cancer patients) and preventing cancer (healthy people). Her Moral teacher encouraged them to spread this information to parents.

April retained this information well. She kept telling me and her dad how good is 优顿草 again and again. She also said one of her classmates has 优顿草 in his house garden. This boy was going to pluck some for those who are interested to plant it.

On the next day, April really brought one tiny grass back from school. When my husband took a closer look at the grass, it resembles the grass which my next door neighbour planted in his garden.

When chatting with my neighbour, I enquired her the usage and benefits of the grass. She confirmed that what April's Moral teacher said is right. It was very kind of her to give me this whole pail of 优顿草.

Being a juice lover, my husband and I have no problem at all in taking this 优顿草. We put in 10 leaves (this number is only meant for maintaining health, cancer patients need more, please refer to the link below this entry) with 4 small green apples, and juiced them together. It tasted fine for us.

April who has full trust in her Moral teacher, taking the juice without any problem.

◆12.治一般糖尿病：忧遁草2两，半枝莲、土茯苓各5钱，麦门冬、宽筋藤各3钱，水煎服。

材料：
水 2公升
罗汉果(生和干皆可) 1粒
红枣 10克
新鲜优遁草枝和叶 100克
做法：
1. 将罗汉果、红枣和优盾草枝叶洗净后，加水放入锅内煮滚。
2. 滚后开小火煮约1.5小时，然后熄火闷住待凉 (1-4小时皆可)。
3. 放凉后将其再次加热煮滚。
4. 滚后再用文火继续煮20分钟，过滤渣滓后即可饮用。
喝不完的剩余部分可收在冰箱冷藏，待要喝时再加热煮滚。

实验证明，饮用苹果汁可以使病理性健忘症有所好转，1个月后大脑​内的β-淀粉蛋白的堆积也明显减少。美国马萨诸塞大学研究人员托​马斯·谢伊及其研究小组在实验中发现，苹果汁之所以有这样奇妙的​抑制健忘的效果，是因为它能促进神经递质乙酰胆碱的产生。神经递质是将信息从一个神经细胞传送​到另一个神经细胞的化学传递物质，这种物质的不断生成，能增强人​的记忆力。

那吃苹果行不行呢？北京协和医院营养科副教授于康说，苹果被称为​“全科医生”，效果显著。苹果含有丰富的碳水化合物、维生素和微​量元素，尤其是维生素A和胡萝卜素含量较高。它还含有丰富的水溶​性食物纤维果胶，以及苹果酸和柠檬酸，能防止疲劳。吃苹果还能改​善呼吸系统和肺功能，保护肺部免受烟尘影响。
但考虑到老人咀嚼功能衰退，所以建议老人喝苹果原汁代替吃苹果。​如果是自己榨的汁，最好连苹果渣一起喝。

因为看似混浊的苹果汁和​澄清的相比较,混浊苹果汁中的多酚量是清苹果汁的4倍，而多酚是​抵抗肿瘤和抑制血压上升的高手。
所以用青苹果+忧遁草汁不是纯粹让忧遁草汁更加美味而已， 是因为有着高倍多酚来抵抗肿瘤！！
